Exploring Yorkshire

With freedom comes exploration, hence last week I took my first trip to Betty's! Yorkshire's famed tea rooms, serving only the finest local coffee and tea, I stopped in for afternoon tea coffee at the Harrogate branch with my own local tour guide (aka, BFF and Harrogate know-it-all, Matthew). Perfectly quaint and adorably kitsch, the place was predictably thriving, despite it being a weekday, with yummy mummies, OAPS and the upper echelons' business meetings. Faced with a selection of macaroons, I harked back to afternoons spent at Ladurée in New York, and opted instead for the quintessentially British scone, served with jam and clotted cream. An excellent choice I'll add.

Oh, to be old before my age. I'm getting used to this new found freedom away from work and deadlines. Sadly, it comes to a close on Monday with the arrival of Semester 2 and an inevitably busy schedule. In the meantime, continuing with the theme of Yorkshire's finest (and being old before my age), how's this for a spot of nostalgia?
