We’re half way through summer (err, already!?) and festival season is well under way. I’ve told you a million times about my love for festivals: seriously, what’s better than spending a day gadding about in the sun, with your friends, drinking cider from noon, eating all sorts of deliciousness, whilst listening to your favourite music? The best. But the one thing that makes festivals even more fun? GLITTER. Lots of it. There aren’t many days of the year when you can be sprinkled in glitter and not get funny looks, and for someone like me who doesn’t really wear a lot of makeup, festivals are a real opportunity to make up for what I’m missing out on the rest of the time.
And if you think I’m exaggerating, here’s me at Sunfall last week…SO SHINY...and then a little more restrained at Citadel below.
Yep, if boho was the festival statement of the Noughties, right now it’s all about glitter and gems (in an ethereal way rather than a Ke$ha way). And I am totally on board with that. So much so I couldn’t help myself taking a little look on Pinterest for some refined inspiration, and my goodness, there are some beautiful things on there. I've got a couple more festivals to head to this summer, and in case you do too (or perhaps just want a really pretty Saturday!), here's a little mood board with some of the most dreamy looks I found, along with a few product suggestions of how to recreate — because even for makeup novices like me, they're actually super easy. Use Vaseline as your glue and you're golden.
Enjoy being shiny, people.
