We’re off to Singapore this week — a trip we’ve had in the diary for months and something I’ve been looking forward to for AGES. I haven’t been to Singapore since I was a kid, 20 years ago now(!), so I’ve no doubt it’s going to have changed just a little since back then! We’ve been researching cool places and bookmarking some sweet looking spots on Instagram, so I thought I’d put a bucket list together of all the great places we’re hoping to visit while we’re there…
Gardens By The Bay
Probably the main thing that drew us to Singapore in the first place, I cannot WAIT to see the magical Gardens By The Bay in real life with my own eyes. The giant greenhouses, super trees, cloud forest.. it all looks SO incredible.
The Warehouse Hotel
Ever since I first saw pictures of the lobby at The Warehouse Hotel, I’ve been dying to visit. A warehouse built in 1895, in an area that was for a long a hotbed of secret societies and liquor distilleries, is now a design-led 37-room boutique hotel, which opened in January 2017. It just looks so SLICK. We’ve booked one of our nights here…can’t wait!
Singapore doesn’t really have it’s own defined cuisine, instead there’s a real mix of great Chinese, Indian and Malay options. I hear Chinatown is a real day and night destination in Singapore — cool architecture, great hawker centres, quirky shops and a must-visit strip of bars on Ann Siang Hill.
Singapore Botanical Gardens
Singapore itself is dubbed to be one of the greenest cities in the world, a conscious effort by the government but also helped enormously by the super humid climate. I can’t wait to see the abundant botanical gardens.
No trip is complete without a little cafe #interiorgoals and I hear PUNCH is the spot to find them! From what I see on Instagram, the brunch offering is pretty dreamy too so we’ll have to remember to skip one of the hotel brekkies!
Cliche I know, but no trip to Singapore is complete without sampling the famous Singapore Sling at Raffles. (I was 6 last time I was here so never got to try it!)
Warong Nasi Pariaman
Highlighted in a few of the guides I’ve read as some of the best Malay food in the city, I’m determined to make a pilgrimage to Warong Nasi Pariaman for at least one of our dinners..!
A technicolour web of streets where you can find the best Indian food in the city? A must stop for me! All the food please!
A 10km rainforest canopy walk, I can’t wait to get away from the city bustle for a couple of hours up on the Southern Ridges.
I’m all about matcha lattes and from what I’ve seen on Instagram, Kurasu is the place to go to get them! A Tokyo-born cafe, Kurasu opened their first overseas spot in Singapore's Odeon Towers in July 2017.
