A Christmas Party In Paris

December 12, 2017

The weekend before last was a good one. We had our work Christmas party in Paris — a 100+ person group trip to The Hoxton, Paris for 24 hours, and it really was a total blast. A blurry, boozy blast.

We all boarded the Eurostar on Saturday morning and made the most of it with Prosecco for breakfast. T’is the season after all! The Hoxton, Paris is only 15 minutes from Gare Du Nord so we walked en masse, school trip style to the hotel to check into our beautiful rooms, where bespoke eclairs from L'Eclair de Génie were waiting for us...

We regrouped over cheeseboards and mulled wine in Rivié, then went out to find a little culture at Fondation Louis Vuitton. 25 minutes outside of Paris, in the most impressive sculptural building, Fondation Louis Vuitton is definitely something you should clear an afternoon for next time you’re in Paris — there’s everything from Jeff Koons to Warhol, Rauschenburg and Barbara Kruger, plus a sprawling view of the city from the top...

Back at the hotel, we had a little downtime (mulled wine makes you snoozy!) before getting our glad rags on for the evening. We’d taken over the whole of Les Voutes — our meeting and events space in the basement – so had a proper party space all to ourselves...

We danced our socks off, roamed from room to room, got low to Christiana Milian, and devoured all the shrimp burgers, duck confit burgers, and mini yule logs before taking ourselves up to Jacques’ Bar for cocktails… the Hox 007 is too damn good to say no to.

Sneaking into the kitchen at midnight for the chefs to make us giant bowls of cacio e pepe was my best move of the night, before we took the party on to Rex Club and danced ’til 5am and our feet hurt.

The next morning was a little less to write home about, but a trip to McDo saved the day, before we boarded the Eurostar and headed back to London. What a weekend!
