This was our first time in Ibiza and Sir Joan was the perfect base for exploring Ibiza Old Town and the beaches in the surrounding area. A slick design hotel, Sir Joan is a mere 15 minute drive from the airport, making it the best choice if you’re flying in late or are on a tight party-hard agenda. Not that we actually went to Pacha but I should add here, Sir Joan is literally across the road from the iconic superclub, so if you are looking to party party, this is where you want to be. Despite not hitting the clubs, Sir Joan put us right where we wanted to be for our first few days in Ibiza. Slap bang between Talamanca beach and the Old Town, we were able to easily walk to what we wanted to visit in the area (the good tapas restaurants, Dalt Villa, Talamanca beach) and were able to valet park our hire car for free too.
Having previously stayed at its sister hotel, Sir Adam in Amsterdam, I went expecting good things and was pleased to find Sir Joan's rooms are even more modern and boujee, with their rippled copper mirrors, slick marble open bathrooms, airy terrace, and comfy, giant low bed. I’m also the biggest fan of the DEAD CLEAN toiletries the Sir hotels use… they smell divine. We made excellent use of the Bose sound system in our room while getting ready for dinner with beers from the minibar and crisps from the shop (cos are you even on holiday if you don't have all the crisps before dinner?). The next morning, we skipped the add-on breakfast buffet (punchy at €39/ person) and wandered down to to get brunch at Passion Cafe instead — a spot I'd definitely recommend if you're big on brunch.
Don’t miss the hotel’s pool terrace: the dreamiest spot for a lazy day in the sun. It’s total bliss, with towering cacti, comfy loungers, chilled out DJ beats, and cocktails on demand. The perfect base if you’re wanting to be amongst the action in Ibiza.
