Lisbon is one of Europe’s coolest cities, especially if you’re into food and drink, and The Lisboans is the perfect base for exploring. The 15 slick self-catering apartments are all dressed up with local Portuguese flair and boast an enviable location, putting you right where you want to be. At The Lisboans, you’ll feel right at home in the city straight away, thanks to its laidback atmosphere, fridge stocked with local provisions for your arrival, and a bottle of Portuguese plonk left out as a welcome gift. Not just that but you’re right next door to one of Lisbon’s very best places to eat (PRADO is the sister restaurant to The Lisboans and lunch or dinner here should be on the top of your ‘things to do’ list).
The Lisboans' apartments are all flooded with natural light, have high lofty ceilings, and balcony doors that open out onto charming city views. They vary in size but all have a comfy beds, kitchenettes and cosy lounge areas. Interiors are thoughtfully curated and staying here feels a lot like you're staying at your coolest mate’s house: the one who plays vinyl on Sunday mornings, reads Penguin classics, and really cares about top-quality bed linens. Bathrooms are pretty special too, with huge mirrors and epic walk-in showers. I could have spent all day in there getting ready…’til I remembered there were cocktails to be drank on a rooftop somewhere.
Come morning, you’ll find a little delivery on your door, with freshly baked bread, pastries, orange juice, cheese and ham: a perfect light breakfast that will keep you going ’til your first (of many) pasteis de nata stop.
The Lisboans is great and I'll definitely be back. For design lovers and interior junkies, there's no cooler place to stay in the city.
